What we help you understand
A chat abbreviation, a fan comment, and a teasing remark can be confusing even when you know the individual words. NoCapWiki explains meanings, usage and limits in English, keeping Korean headwords and original Korean learning examples alongside their translations.
We cover established expressions as well as slang. Inclusion is not a claim that a word is new, universally used, or trending today. Reading a word does not mean you should use it with every person. Our learning guides compare expressions and show how the relationship changes the message.
Who operates the site
NoCapWiki is operated by HOBOS (호보스), represented by Choi Sung-soo (최성수). HOBOS is responsible for the site’s content and correction process. Contact support@hobos.studio with the page URL and the issue you want us to examine.
We are not affiliated with Urban Dictionary, NamuWiki, the National Institute of Korean Language, or the publishers we cite. A reference link does not mean its publisher endorses NoCapWiki.
What our checking does—and does not—mean
The launch catalog and these guides were prepared with AI-assisted drafting and source checks. We do not claim that each entry has received independent native-speaker or academic review. Examples are constructed for learning, not collected from private conversations. References support specific meanings or documented uses; they do not validate every possible interpretation.
We distinguish an expression’s expanded form from an uncertain first-use story. Where we cannot verify an origin or a usage claim, we avoid presenting it as fact. Individual speakers and communities may use a word differently. Please read the editorial policy for the method, limitations and contribution rules.
Corrections and contributions
Each word page links to a correction form and an issue-report form. We examine inaccuracies, harmful content, privacy concerns and rights complaints. Reports do not automatically remove an entry, and a new community definition does not silently replace the existing explanation.
For a guide correction or an issue that does not fit the forms, email the page URL and a concise explanation. Do not send unnecessary personal information or another person’s private chat. Inquiry emails are retained for one year after resolution, as explained in the privacy policy.
